As a Sophomore in a Public High School, I have noticed that many of our High School students are careless, selfish, and also ill-mannered. Through watching what the power of the Lord has done in my family's life, my own life, and the lives of people that I know, prayer is a major help with personality issues. I personally believe that students and teachers should be given the opportunity to pray before school, during school at appropriate times, before meals, before tests, and also to pray for their classmates that may be following these harmful acts. The current law justifies this prohibition to "protect the separation of church and state" and also to "protect students and teachers from unneeded disturbances". First of all, we would not be in this state (situation) that we are in if we would have followed the Lord. Plus if other people do not like us praying, I have a simple solution: Stop listening and making a big deal about it! I am trying to prepare myself for a life that is much more important than this one, and that will last a LOT longer, meaning ETERNITY. I do not know if the gov't officials have noticed or not, but the students that HAVE the power of prayer in their lives seem to do much better and also have a better attitude.
